Step into a world of energy, imagination and hands-on play at IAG Kids: Move It!, a free interactive kids’ exhibition running throughout summer and into early autumn at Ipswich Art Gallery. This vibrant, STEAM-inspired experience encourages children to build, experiment and explore motion in fun and creative ways — perfect for curious minds from toddlers up to early teens.
Event details: The exhibition runs from Saturday 29 November 2025 through Sunday 8 March 2026, open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Entry is free for all ages, and the gallery’s Children’s Gallery space brings the activities to life in a colourful, engaging environment.
What You’ll Discover
Build it: Children can design and race their own LEGO vehicles down ramps and test them for speed, bounce and durability — an exciting way to learn principles of motion, balance and engineering.
Fly it: Test your flying creations inside specially designed wind tubes and watch as your recycled-material inventions soar, hover and dance in air currents.
Roll it: Create gravity-defying ball runs full of twists, loops and tricks, exploring cause-and-effect and problem-solving as you assemble tracks from simple materials.
With endless opportunities to make, test and play all day, Move It! combines creativity with science, technology, engineering, art and maths learning in an interactive, joyful setting.

The exhibition is located at Ipswich Art Gallery, d’Arcy Doyle Place, Ipswich QLD 4305, inside the Nicholas Street precinct. The space is family-friendly and accessible, with plenty of room for prams and exploratory play. While the exhibition itself is free, guided group visits outside school holidays require advance booking. It’s an ideal day out for families, school holiday itineraries, playdates or casual outings with friends.
